Upson County E911 began operations in August of 1995 as a basic 911 system.  The system was enhanced In 1997 to identify a caller’s  name, address, telephone number and Emergency Service Number.  When cell phones became popular in the 2000’s, Upson County E911 became Phase I compliant which allows cell calls to be routed directly to the 911 Center.  Upson County E911 became Phase II compliance in 2006, providing equipment with the ability to trace calls with the latitude and longitude information provided by cell phone towers.  Our mapping system has also been upgraded.
