The Georgia Forestry Commission, Upson County Office, is located approximately five miles east of Thomaston on Hwy. 74. The services offered to the public include: plowing of firebreaks, assistance with control burns, harrowing food plots, and seedling sales. A forester is also provided to assist landowners with management plans and technical advise.
A burn permit is required for all outside burning. You can obtain a burn permit by calling the numbers listed at the right. You may also obtain a yard debris burn permit on the website at http://www.gatrees.org.
Upson County has a burn ban from May 1st through September 30th.
